With the first season being such a big hit, the chances of a Season 2 seemed high – but in the world of streaming, sometimes a show can look huge, only to be suddenly canceled.

Has The Wheel of Time Been Renewed for Season 2?

Not only has The Wheel of Time been renewed for Season 2, but that decision was made some months ago.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins said at the time: “Getting a second season order before the first season has even premiered is such a vote of confidence in the work we are doing and the property itself, and we couldn’t be happier to be able to continue to live and work in the world Robert Jordan created.”

What Season 2 has in store has been kept under wraps, but we do know that one cast member is set to be swapped out. Barney Harris is leaving as Mat Cauthon (the showrunner declined to comment on why) and is being replaced by Dónal Finn.

Assuming that the show does finish filming in March, then we could see Season 2 as early as September 2022. However, they could choose to wait the usual year between seasons and hold out for November 2022.

We are likely to know more once filming concludes at some point in 2022.
