Seven of the 16 songs on the Spotify soundtrack for Moving Out, a physics-based co-op game about moving large objects through increasingly ridiculous constraints, feature Macaluso. In an interview with IGN published Sunday, Macaluso said the experience has been “soul-stirring” because the game’s developers asked him to dig deep rather than just licensing a “go-to song.” SMG Studio’s senior producer said they were looking to craft a sound that authentically sounded like the eighties.
Popular culture fanatics who grew up before the turn of the century might recognize Maculuso’s “The Touch” as an iconic part of the 1986 Transformers animated movie.
Moving Out will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One on April 28.
